The Linkedin conundrum: Is it really as easy as just being yourself?

Let’s be real: LinkedIn can sometimes feel like a mix of a digital networking event and an awkward high school reunion. But here’s the good news: building meaningful relationships on LinkedIn is a lot easier when you show up as YOU (yes, the amazing, one-of-a-kind, meme-loving or spreadsheet-obsessed you).

Here’s your no-nonsense, cheeky little strategy to finding your authentic voice and connecting with people who actually want to hear from you. The thing is when you show up as yourself, you actually attract the people who want to do business with you!

1. Start by being human.
   Ditch the “per my last email” vibe and write the way you speak. Use emojis. Be cheeky. Ask questions. Whatever it is that is your vibe. People will feel it. People connect with people, not robots in suits.

2. Don’t overthink your posts.
   Got a win to share? A lesson learned? A fun story? Post it! (No need for a 12-point essay.) Pro tip: If you wouldn’t say it to a friend over coffee, don’t say it on LinkedIn.

3. Engage, don’t broadcast.
   Comment on posts that resonate with you. Especially if they are in your target 10 (LI Accelerator members know what this means) Slide into DMs (but keep it classy, folks). Be curious and show genuine interest—it’s not about pitching; it’s about connecting.

4. Play to your strengths.
   Love storytelling? Tell a story. Data-driven nerd? Share insights. Expert GIF user? Work those reaction skills! Your vibe attracts your tribe, so let your true colors shine.

5. Consistency is king. NOTHING matters more than this.
   Post DAILY, follow the 3-2-1 method I teach in my accelerator, interact with your network daily, and let your authentic voice compound into something magical. (No, it doesn’t take hours. We’re talking 10-15 minutes a day.)

The secret sauce?

Your authentic self is your unfair advantage. 

The more you embrace it, the more magnetic you become to the people you’re meant to connect with.

So go ahead: log in, show up, and let LinkedIn meet the real you. I promise, the magic happens when you’re bold enough to be unapologetically YOU.
